U.S. pulls funding on Pakistan’s Sesame Street amid corruption allegations
Disappointing news for fans of Pakistan’s equivalent to Sesame Street: the United States has pulled the plug on funding the children’s television series following serious allegations of fraud and corruption. According to Reuters, the U.S. Agency for International Development (U.S.A.I.D.) had allocated $20 million to produce the series, called Sim Sim Hamara, in conjunction with the Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop in Pakistan.
